Top-25 College Basketball Game Capsules

Columbus, OH (Betting Express) - Victor Oladipo had a career-high 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds, as No. 1 Indiana took down 10th-ranked Ohio State, 81-68, on Sunday in a Top-10 battle between Big Ten foes. Cody Zeller and Christian Watford followed in double-figures with 24 and 20 points, respectively, for the Hoosiers (21-3, 9-2 Big Ten), who bounced back from a last-second loss at Illinois on Thursday and won at Ohio State for the first time since 2008. Deshaun Thomas paced Ohio State with 26 points and seven rebounds and Aaron Craft contributed 16 points and six boards for the Buckeyes (17-6, 7-4), who dropped their second straight following a four-game winning streak. OSU fell at rival No. 3 Michigan in overtime on Tuesday.

Final Score: (4) Duke 62, Boston College 61

Chestnut Hill, MA (Betting Express) - There was nearly another upset in college basketball on Sunday, but No. 4 Duke scored the last six points -- the final three on Mason Plumlee free throws -- to steal a 62-61 decision over Boston College at Conte Forum. The Blue Devils (21-2, 8-2 ACC) almost joined the rest of the top-5 with losses this week, but narrowly survived a surprisingly tight battle against a team that sits at the bottom of the conference with Virginia Tech. Plumlee finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds and hit the go-ahead free throw with 24 seconds remaining, while Seth Curry chipped in 18 points in Duke's fifth straight win. Olivier Hanlan led Boston College (10-13, 2-8) with 20 points, but missed a potential game-winning jumper from just inside the right elbow in the closing seconds.

Final Score: California 77, (7) Arizona 69

Tucson, AZ (Betting Express) - Allen Crabbe and Justin Cobbs exploded in the second half, combining for 36 of the Golden Bears' final 44 points, as California knocked off No. 7 Arizona, 77-69, at McKale Center. Crabbe had 19 of his game-high 31 points over the final 20 minutes. He connected on 12-of-15 attempts from the field for the contest -- including 4- of-7 from long distance -- as California (14-9, 6-5 Pac 12) captured its third win in four games. Cobbs finished with 21 points for the game and his layup with under a minute remaining sealed the victory for the Golden Bears. The Wildcats (20-3, 8-3) suffered just their second home loss of the season as their four- game winning streak came to an end. Mark Lyons scored 16 points and Solomon Hill added 13 in the setback.

Final Score: (9) Syracuse 77, St. John's 58

Syracuse, NY (Betting Express) - C.J. Fair and Michael Carter-Williams scored 17 points apiece to help the ninth-ranked Syracuse Orange post a 77-58 victory over a St. John's club that was without its head coach. Fair added nine rebounds, while Carter-Williams compiled eight assists and a career-high six steals. James Southerland returned from a six-game absence due to an eligibility issue to score 13 points for the Orange (20-3, 8-2 Big East), who extended the nation's longest home winning streak to 37 games. Brandon Triche had 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds in Syracuse's eighth win in a row over the Red Storm. The Orange have also beaten St. John's eight straight times at the Carrier Dome. JaKarr Sampson paced the Red Storm (15-9, 7-5) with a game-high 21 points on 10-of-14 shooting. St. John's head coach Steve Lavin missed the game due to the passing of his father.

Final Score: Illinois 57, (18) Minnesota 53

Minneapolis, MN (Betting Express) - Tracy Abrams' 3-point dagger with 15 seconds remaining helped Illinois pick up their second Top-25 victory in the last four days, downing No. 18 Minnesota, 57-53, in a pivotal Big Ten Conference matchup Sunday. Tyler Griffey had 16 points and four rebounds and connected on 4-of-7 from behind the arc for the Fighting Illini (17-8, 4-7 Big Ten), who were coming off a victory versus No. 1-ranked Indiana on Thursday. D.J. Richardson netted three 3-pointers en route to 13 points, as Illinois came alive after an poor start to steal a conference road win. Abrams shot just 2-of-9 from the floor, but finished with five points, six rebounds and six assists. Austin Hollins scored 16 points and Trevor Mbakwe registered a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards for the Golden Gophers (17-7, 5-6), who lost their second straight and sixth in their last eight overall following a promising 15-1 start to the season.
