On the newly introduced courses:
BSc International Sport Business Management: The sports industry is expanding rapidly due to the growth of global brands, sports equipment, sponsorship, broadcasting, sports travel and tourism & the legacy of major sports events such as the Beijing and London Olympics. Efficient business and management systems are essential for any sports organisation, creating a demand for graduates with knowledge of the sports industry and business management. This course integrates key business management theories with current sport management research - using real life case studies as examples. The course is for international students with an appropriate foundation degree in a business-related area such as business, finance, tourism or hospitality. Students can gain a UK honours degree after just one year of study.
MSc Mobile Computing Applications: MSc Mobile Computing Application is one where, advances in internet and web technologies, together with the arrival of mobile computing operating systems such as iOS and Android, have led to a new wave of enhanced applications that have the potential to change the way computers are used. This course covers the development and application of new mobile technologies. Students build knowledge and expertise on platforms, architectures, development frameworks and the technologies for mobile applications. It is an ideal course for existing industry professionals wishing to further develop their skills or to begin a career in mobile applications. It is also a course for graduates in computer science, software engineering or network programming with an interest in this area.
SHU has a dedicated office in New Delhi to support students and partnership institutions. It continues to develop new partnerships with Indian institutions and the University's academic staff travel frequently to nurture these relationships and often deliver guest lectures to students. The University provides its Indian students global exposure with programmes supported by excellent work placements related to their subject of study.
