Crack injection is also called polyurethane crack injection, because of the fact that a good crack injection company will use a hybrid urethane solution. The product should be commercial grade. This polyurethane solution has a very high positive expansion ratio (40 to 1 when you use the proper solution). As such, once the solution has been injected into the crack, it keeps expanding from the inside on out in order to entirely seal the crack and prevent any moisture from coming in.

When you choose urethane crack injection, first a surface bond will be used in order to allow for injected urethane to be kept inside the crack instead of spilling out. Your basement waterproofing and crack repair company will then drill walls into the hole at an angle. These holes are drilled approximately every 12 inches from the top of the crack down to the bottom so that the crack can be filled completely from both the bottom and the top of the crack.

Once the holes are done, they are used to fill the crack with the urethane solution. Packers around the crack are tightened to ensure that the urethane fills the entire crack completely and can't exit. Everything is left up for about 24 hours to 48 hours and the polyurethane stays in the crack, filling it entirely and then solidifying there to create a solid, long-lasting filler for the crack. The crack in your foundation, then, effectively goes away along with moisture and other problems that had come along with the crack.
